It’s extremely comfortable picking up after the first book, but new characters are soon thrown in and the pace fairly romps along so do keep up! It’s rather breathless once again, but the comfort of familiarity glosses over that effectively this time around.

And then we hit the second half of the book and things go places, such wonderful places. Luckily we get to spend a bit more time here than we occasionally did with certain scenes in the first book, but it’s exciting, proper SciFi, with huge scale and a sense of wonder. I was captivated during these scenes.

So overall I liked this episode more than the first, the developments were enthralling, but it’s still moving much too fast at times.
