Oh boy!

I liked aspects of this book but felt it was done too quickly.

Was no one from the barrel racing world talked to when making this book. The amounts included were so small yet so wrong. It really took me out of the story. How can a character be believable when they know nothing about horses, barrel racing, or ranch life. Instead of research it felt like she made surface level assumptions. The worst examples was when talking about the horse wagging its tail with pleasure. Horses typically swish their tail when they are agitated or trying to get rid of flies. Also the barrel pattern isn’t faster one way, riders decide which way to go based on which direction their horse turns more quickly. So if your horse is better at right hand turns, you would go left first so that you do the last two as right turns. This is pretty basic and I am sure could have been discovered from google or even a phone call. These errors felt lazy.

I did like that there was no act three break up. I also appreciate that they feel more like real people because stupid miscommunications aren’t almost breaking them up throughout. Their romance felt more real.

Overall it wasn’t bad just could have been more detailed and planned out.
