Short & sweet: Read a book with less than 100 pages.
Sooo... what? That's kinda my reaction. I've seen a lot of raving reviews, and I was underwhelmed.
I knew it was a short story, but I didn't think it was gonna be this short. It was less than 5 pages on my Kindle. I almost don't want to mark this as read and have it count toward my book-goal, as it seems like cheating...
Five pages is usually not enough space to build any kind of reaction in me, unless it manages to surprise me or otherwise blow my mind, and this story does neither. The "twist" ending was predictable, so I was waiting for some other part of the story to be amazing - some gist of knowledge, something to leave me thinking - but in the end I was just... underwhelmed. The story is cute, but unmemorable.
