The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

Maybe I was expecting too much from this novel, but at times it was so frustrating to read. It had the potential to be amazing, with such an interesting plot, but I thought it was dull until the end.
I found nearly all of the characters to be cowards and hypocrytes. They were all angry with each other for keeping secrets and making deicisions whilst going behind their backs, when meanwhile they were holding secrets themselves.
The time frame was too long in this book, and it moved too quickly. One minute, the children were teenagers, and the next minute they are in their mid 20's and vital moments in their lives were overlooked.
Although the ending was somewhat heartwarming, Norah's attitude towards Pheobe bothered me, she seemed far too calm with the idea that her daughter was alive, suffering from Down's Syndrome and had been living with the nurse who delievered her all her life. However, I did enjoy the small amount of detail that was given about Paul and Pheobe's new relationship as brother and sister.
