The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

adventurous mysterious fast-paced

4.0

This book is a very compelling mystery. There were some times when I solved things long before the main characters, so it got a little annoying waiting for them to catch up, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The reason for only 4 stars though comes from the liberty the author uses to stretch some facts. I’d definitely give some of the stated “facts” a quick google before taking them as the truth.
Ex:
That Jewish men had to be married back then and celibacy was frowned upon.
This is just not true.

The second reason for the star dock is the uncomfortable descriptions of the main female protagonist. After her initial introduction it mostly gets better… but it was definitely a yikes moment while reading it the first time.
The ending makes up for it though. I would absolutely recommend reading this book through the lens of fiction
