Followed by Frost by Charlie N. Holmberg
4.0
This was such a sweet story! Paced well. Holmberg made a small paperback follow the course of 4 years and avoided tedious downtime and unnecessary scenes.
What a great premise! A girl who is cursed to be as cold as her heart is. Things she touches turn to ice similar to a King Midas story, but worlds better.
And it was a book above loving books too! In fact, that's what the refreshing, natural romance throughout the last half of the book revolved around. A lot of "awwww" moments. I just want to keep using the word "sweet"! So sweet.
Great redeeming main character arc and interesting side characters (Death... you're a creepy and complicated bastard but you're also hilarious) despite the supporting cast not being flushed out very much due to the book's length. That's ok. This dark fairy tale kept me engaged, was light enough to read for a relaxing weekend without engaging too many brain cells, and I was grinning like a fool at the end.
Well done Holmberg!
