The Invention of Murder: How the Victorians Revelled in Death and Detection and Created Modern Crime by Judith Flanders

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
Surprisingly tedious for such an interesting subject. Doesn’t seem to have a thesis; just goes from murder trial to murder trial in excessive detail.
