I read one other book by this author (Love and Other Words) and didn't like it at all. The True Love Experiment seemed a little more up my alley. The overall atmosphere was fun and flirty and the writing style was solid. However, there is something about the pacing that didn't work for me again. The dating show promised in the summary did not start until late in the book (after around 40 percent). The book was way too long for what actually happened.
The drama after around 75 percent of the book annoyed me so much that I only skipped through the rest because I didn't even care anymore if the protagonists got a happy ending. It really annoyed me how much cheating was rationalized and excused in this book.
From the very beginning, I couldn't connect with Fizzy. I also felt a growing dislike toward Connor.
I didn't read the Love Equation before and didn't feel like it was necessary. After this secon trial, i came to the conclusion that Christina Lauren is not for me
