If I had known how solid of a book this was, I'd've read a long time ago. The writing here is great, which only emphasizes how great the characterization is. There is no insta-love here. For once it's realistic -- boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy has to really work to get girl. And despite Lilac being rich, spoiled, and often pompous, we still like her. That's not an easy feat for an author to do so it is even more impressive here. Combine all this with some great worldbuilding, and you're in for a hell of a trip. Just make sure to not take the Icarus, I hear it isn't safe.
