Twelve Nights at Rotter House

Felix and his friend, Thomas stay at an abandoned mansion in order for Felix to write his next book on creepy travel destinations. However, Felix has always been skeptical and this time decided to to spend two solid weeks completely cut off from the outside world in to have the full experience. Both of them are also big horror fans and are very familiar with all the haunted house tropes and do their best to avoid them. This is also a great opportunity for Felix and Thomas to catch up since they haven’t seen each other in a year.
Haunted homes are my jam when it comes to horror books, but this was extra fun since it twists all the tropes on its head, the heavy meta references to other stories, and lastly the great dialogue between these two characters. You can absolutely feel all the tension and awkwardness in being separated for a year, yet still that weird familiarity that comes when you reunite. Overall, I loved this and wasn’t able to predict how this was going!
