This was everything I wanted to finish out the story. I love all these characters and the ending was so perfect, I cried.

Once again, the writing is delectable and stunning. Its flowery conjures an immersive setting, flows elegantly, and has well-placed humor. I tabbed so many gorgeous lines that I want to inscribe EVERYWHERE. The world expanded in this second book and I was so glad to explore more of this cultural atmosphere. And an added POV which I loved and revealed so much more of Altair.

Speaking of, these characters just made me so happy. I loved watching them grow throughout this journey to bring magic back. They each had such depth and even the new side characters who were introduced were well flushed out. Every relationship had me so engaged and I couldn't wait to see where they would end up. Also Lana was the sassy little sister character I've always wanted. Kifah is my spirit animal and also ACE REP!!

Yes, this story is certainly slow, but when the action starts up, it hits quick and fast. Even when the action itself isn't happening, the plot is still progressing as the characters work out their next moves or try to figure out their own drama. I was shocked at the rollercoaster of emotions I went through while reading this. At no point was I bored. I laughed, cried, squealed, and screamed.

The ending, y'all. The ending. I can't gather words to express how much I loved it.

This is now my favorite fantasy. It's been decided.

I will now be recommending this book to everyone I talk to ever.
