Lady Sings the Blues by Billie Holiday
4.0

I knew very little about the biography of Billie Holiday so this personal account was very insightful and fascinating as Holiday recounts her struggles as an African-American woman in the early 20th century US facing constant racism, poverty, struggles and addiction. It all reads very engaging and is written in anecdotes that may not always be 100 percent factual but give a great impression of an interesting life!
