Galaxy "Alex" Stern has a past that she is trying to leave behind when she is given the chance to attend Yale with the side responsibilities of monitoring their secret societies. Alex is exposed to things she has never known about and gets a slightly better understanding of an ability  that she has alway had. What happens when Alex is left to take over responsibilities she is not fully prepared for and when a murder happens close to Yale?

I have had Ninth House on my TBR list for a while and I am so mad that it has taken me this long to read! I absolutely loved this book. While I am mad it took me this long I am also happy because book 2 is coming out in January!

Alex is probably one of my favorite characters that I have read in a while. I love how strong and independent she is. I also really enjoyed that she finds the way to do what she needs to do as part of her responsibilities but she does it her way. I greatly enjoyed how she appeared to be in a struggle with herself.

I listened to most of the book on a drive back from Illinois and I did not want my drive to end because I wanted to keep listening. I loved how each chapter was told from different time periods, the spring and then winter. I also love that certain chapters are told from Alex's point of view and other chapters were told from Darlington's point of view. The chapters changing times and perspectives kept me so engaged!

I loved each and every character from Alex to Darlington to Turner to Dawes. I felt that each character was well rounded and fully thought out. It was great to feel that even the supporting characters were fully developed.

I am so happy that I read this book in audio format. The 2 readers that were the voices of Alex and Darlington were incredible. I was so excited when the first chapter from Darlington's point of view started and a male voice came out. I would definitely recommend listening to this book if you have not already!

Have you read Ninth House? Did you enjoy it?
