3 Men And A Body by Stephanie Bond

2.0

First of all, let me say that I am being generous with the 2-star rating. You know how you've read reviews about Carlotta and Wesley being "too stupid to live"... They are. Abashedly so. Seriously --how many times is this woman going to butt her way into investigations before Jack arrests her? Seriously --he should have already!

Basically the premise of this book is that this socialite with checkered morale (very ala Paris Hilton, in my opinion) dies of a supposed asthma attack. Coop gets the call to go pick up the body --and turns out that someone else is trying to steal the body for only god knows what purposes.

Honestly, if Carlotta stepped out of the picture here, and Jack Terry did some REAL detective work and if Coop got in on the action more...I think this series could be tolerable. Peter is a useless schmuck who is only kept around for his money. Wesley is a stupid punk who needs a good swift kick in the rear.

A few people have mentioned the "steamy scene". Well...rest assured: there is only one, which hardly warrants the title phrase: "A sexy mystery". Nothing about
Spoiler Wesley having sex with Liz, who is not only his FATHER'S ex-lover, but also an apparent CURRENT lover to Jack Terry, is sexy. Its GROSS!! I don't know what the heck kind of childhood issues Stephanie Bond has, but she obviously needs some therapy.
That being said, the steamy scene isn't even written well, and is rather blah... You can skip it and you aren't missing out anything.

...In fact, if you're like me and have a book list a mile long --anything on that list is better than this. You're not missing out on a -thing-. I thought I would be able to stick through the full series, but no --this is the end of the line. I can't handle any more stupid in my life.
