Buuza!!, Vol. 1: Good morning Salwa by Shazleen Khan

adventurous emotional funny fast-paced

4.0

"She found him singing. His voice was light. And didn't carry far... but there was something beautiful about it anyway. "Oh! Welcome home!""

Shazleen Khan wrote (in the back of the book) that she wanted to make this something comforting... AND IT IS! I could feel myself get instantly attached to the characters, especially Zach and Sam. Absolutely love the art style, it's great! It has the same vibe as The Croaking on Webtoon, I didn't even realise this was a Webtoon! All the characters are so attractive 😅. Definitely need to know more about Musa, Zhen and Aria. I also wanna know a lot more of the fantasy element for the series, after seeing Emira shapeshift- are they all able to turn into their respective animals? Or not if they're only half like Zach is only half bird and Sam half rabbit, half deer? What do the animals symbolise? I want to know more about the Gods and Messengers and what happened. I'm intrigued! This slice of life was funny and as I introduced, feels incredibly comforting and just feels good to be a part of. I love how open and unjudgemental everyone is too, Sam with her body hair and Zach's line of work- no hate, no shame!

Last note, also clever how every character (minus Zhen?) pretty much interacted with each other without knowing in one scene- when Zach poses for charity both Musa and Sam are there donating!
