This fantasy was a fast-paced, emotional roller-coaster! I was almost always questioning whom to cheer for.

People comparing this to ACOTAR are not wrong. There are many similarities; Good and Evil are the center of the story, and in the beginning, our MC is living in squaller trying to do everything for her family. I caught many Cinderella vibes from this tale and found myself in Beauty and the Beast from time to time.

Brie does everything to save her sister Jas, but sometimes this is lost as Brie navigates the relationships she has been thrust into. Our MC struggles to find clarity, rightly so as our author is constantly baiting and switching us into what we think is the truth. I do believe this method was used a tad too much, at some points the plot and character development seem to move backward in an attempt to extend the word count. With any YA romance-fantasy where I encounter a female MC, I find myself starting to be annoyed with the character's indecisive nature.

The side character's in this tale do not disappoint! There were so many characters that made me want to know everything about them. Overall, this story was good! I can nitpick,  but the truth is I am picking up the sequel because I want to know more and find the real truth!
