The Rule of Mirrors by Caragh M. O'Brien

3.0

I wish I remembered certain things better from the first book. like was the voice in Rosie's head really just a flip side of Rosie and not something else? solely in the first book. because obviously in this one they are separated into two bodies and they seem very different. as I couldn't remember specific details from the first I couldn't tell if it was because they were actually different personalities or if it was due entirely to one of them experiencing more torture than the other one.

it was interesting. I liked the Rosie in Thea more than the Rosie in Rosie. she seemed more intelligent and calm. it was especially obvious when they were in the same room. I didn't enjoy the love... what's 5 sided? although it seemed esp creepy for Tom to still be in love with Thea when she was no longer in there.

it was interesting as an exercise to explore how the same person - if in very different circumstances - how they would react and adapt. if they even are the same person.

I wonder if in the third book Rosie in Rosie will have her mined dreams reimplanted/returned and if that will change her personality again.

I didn't love it. I felt it had some flaws. I will still read the third book.
