I love a horror book with something important to say and I love even more when it is written in a way that’s still fun to experience. This book is proof that stories with a message DO NOT need to be emotionally draining and super serious to be impactful! Don’t get me wrong, there was definitely a sad scene or two and the core messages are serious & important, but I had an absolute blast reading this! 

 

In this book we are following a filmmaker whose life is quickly turned upside down after refusing his studio execs request to kill off his lead gay characters. Great kills, gore, and creepy horror all throughout!! The pacing was perfect. Continuous jaw dropping, horrifying moments from start to finish. There is also a lot of relevant & much needed discussions around queer storytelling, art for arts sake vs. art for money, AI, algorithms, technology, and Hollywood. I was so surprised with where this story went and I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND. One of my favorite books I’ve read this year!
