Absolute FREAKY.
Read this for Richard Strauss' opera. It's very short so I just finished it in an hour before bedtime. It starts out a bit dull and confusing for the first 15 or so pages, but once the dance of the seven veils happen it all falls into place. It's a dangerous story on attraction, and from a non literary point of view (or maybe not?), it's also just about extreme kinks like necrophilia, incest, and voyeurism. The king who lusts after Salome, and Salome who lusts after the prophet who can only return his kiss when his head is on a platter.
