I never reviewed this right when I read it, so this will be brief as it isn't quite fresh on my mind. Simply put, one of the best and most self-aware pieces of transgressive literature ever crafted. A thoughtful but sickening formal analysis of violence and fiction. Consistently and boldly confrontational towards both Cooper himself and those taking part in the work by reading it - what do we shape by taking in violence, sex, transgression, cruelty, what do we enable and change about ourselves, can we ever conceive of it until it's too late.
