A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

5.0

I am so late to the party on this one... but just finished what I can confidently say was my favourite read of 2019!

Ove is a crotchety old man who likes his routines, has a very short fuse and no patience for incompetence...but behind his crankiness there is a story and a sadness. When a new young family moves in next door and introduce themselves by backing over his mailbox, it sets off a comical and heartwarming chain of events bound to make you wince at least once, chuckle repeatedly and maybe shed a tear or two.

The narrator George Newbern was absolutely amazing and helped make Ove an even more completely unforgettable character in a way I believe you miss out on just reading his story on your own.

For me, this was just an easy like Sunday morning feel good story that I will never forget and want to force everyone I know to read!
