this book broke me, over and over, made me happy, over and over. the book was so beautifully written i had to stop writing down every line i loved because it was taking up too much of my time. the way the book is written, jumping from point to point, makes the periods of time the characters are reflecting on and reminiscing as long ago truly feel that way, feel like they happened at a different time to a different person. also, it was heart wrenchingly sad. i think i cried for almost 50 pages, over and over again. i’ve never been so viscerally disgusted by something i’ve read before, bordering on nausea. this book is not for the faint of heart. it brought my own traumas bubbling to the surface but yet i would read it again and again.
