I've been wanting to read this book for a long time. I loved Pillars of the Earth. This book, first in a trilogy, was very well researched and historically interesting, but I found the historical part hindered the movement of the fictional story. The plot took a long time to get going. I liked the writing style and the characters, just needed a little faster pace.
