The detective just told you they are considering the death suspicious, you find droplets of liquid that look like blood and what?! YOU DECIDE TO GO FOR A WALK ON THE BEACH AND CALL YOUR MOM?!?!?!?!?
I get this is a cozy mystery and this is the main character's first murder but I'm sorry, you find something suspicious you tell the cops about it, not bat it off like nothing (she says it might be a nose bleed blood I MEAN COME ON). I can't handle that level of dumb in my reading.
