Mother Maker
by Jenni Bara
Cortney, the baseball player dude in his mid-30s, is facing a career crisis, but man, he's a loyal family guy. Teddy's narration gives him that extra swagger. On the flip side, we got Dylan, the chill girl who rides the universe's vibes. Maxine brings her to life with some real laid-back vibes.
So, we got the accidental pregnancy trope, and I know some folks ain't into that, but I love it. "Man bun" and "dippy do" (Cortney and Dylan) trying to figure out the whole parent thing is hilarious and heartwarming. Sure, there's less slapstick comedy than the first book, and I missed the kids, but damn, the evolution of Cortney and Liam's relationship is spot-on.
The whole book is like a rollercoaster of laughs, banter, and steamy moments. Bara really knows how to keep you entertained. It's my first time with her writing, but I'm digging it. If you're into good times, this audiobook is a winner. So, grab those earphones and dive into the chaos of "Mother Maker." You won't regret it!
