Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath

3.0

A fine average romance book. My biggest issue was how it glossed over why the civil war occurred in the first place. The heroine grew up on a plantation so I saw no excuse why slavery never came up. I get it's not the main plot of the book but effects of the civil war was a driving plot point in the book. White or not.

Something good did come out of this book for me though. I discovered Beverly Jenkins. This book had me searching for other voices and stories. So if you want some good historical romance books, skip Lorraine Heath altogether.
