Cahill does a phenomenal job keeping the story at a blisteringly fast pace all the while diving deep into each character. The interconnectedness of the story while having various groups of characters spread out across the world is so much fun to read and see play out over the pages. The battle sequences are intense, visceral, and brutal in likeness to how Gwynn rights his battles. I find myself having a hard time putting down the book as the pages get closer and closer to the finale. Cahill always finds a way to punch you right in the face with a huge piece of information right at the end and I couldn’t be happier about that. I can’t wait to dive into the novella next and onwards to book 3!
