Broken Prince
by Erin Watt
Only the last 25% of this book was worth reading. The majority of this book I felt like banging my head on a brick wall. It was just more of the ridiculous high school drama and spoiled rich kid problems. It felt like we were getting no where until the last part.
I hate bullying so that is a big part to why I'm not enjoying this series very much. I especially hate when it's the hero of the book bullying the heroine. I can forgive A LOT if I love the hero but when he is the one who started it all...that can almost guarantee an instant dislike from me.
Add into the fact that the whole prep school was bullying Ella as well, it just doesn't sit well. Thankfully, this book had the hero realizing he was completely wrong about the heroine and he spent most of this book groveling to her.
Reed did partially redeem himself with how he pursued Ella in Broken Prince but I don't think I will fully like him based off his dangerous actions in Paper Princess.
I'm not the biggest fan of Ella either. Mostly residual feelings coming off of book one but we spent almost the whole book with her pushing Reed away despite his desperate groveling. It got to be a bit much and I wanted her to forgive him already.
The last 25-30% of the book finally had the MC's doing what they should have been doing all along. Reed completely had Ella's back. Ella went all hulk on the mean girl of the school....that scene was epic by the way. And I got complete satisfaction in the adult mean girl...you will know her as Brooke. I also love the cliffhanger at the end. I had been hoping that would happen from the start.
Now, onto book 3 and lets see if I can continue to enjoy or go back to banging my head until I give myself a concussion.
