Oh man where to begin on this review…well let me start with I absolutely LOVED this book! This is by far the best book box book I have received and best book I have read in a while. I was drawn in the whole time and always trying to figure out what was going to happen and going back and forth in emotions along with the main character Juliet. Needless to say this story was unique and was very well thought out and written.

This was one book where I thought the love triangle was well done. I wasn’t like really freaking out thinking omg she has to be with this person or I am going to go crazy. I mean the likelihood that she was going to end up with “Hawk” the ghost was pretty slight. There was a moment where I was like well she could just stay with him as a ghost, but eventually those petals are going to die and he should move on. Plus I also felt that there was a connection with her and “Lord Thorton” from the beginning, even though he was supposed to be bad. Needless to say when the surprise twist happened (don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t read) I was extremely happy with what happened. I believe that the love triangle was worked out well for all three involved.

I loved that this story took place in Victorian England. I could just imagine the places as the story took place. What a fun idea to have a little area where there are places for men and women to go to. Even if it was a site of revenge the idea was still great. Just imagining his little area where the plants and birds lived, and the star area was fun. Howard was able to create these images in my mind just from well she described them in the story.

I am sad that the next book in the series isn’t a continuation mainly just because I loved these characters, but I did love the ending and think that it didn’t leave anything on a cliff hanger. I would like to think that the 2 petals starting to sprout means Hawk might be seen again. I am excited to read the next in the series though and see whose story we are going to be immersed in and what ghostly experience might happen next! I also am looking forward to reading her other series that have been on my to-read list!
