I struggle to put into words how this book made me feel.  While I felt like not a lot happens, I also feel like so much happens.

Dex and Mosscap are on a journey to ask the question “What do humans need?”  What an incredibly loaded question, am I right?

I can more than relate to Dex.  They feel as though everyone deserves to just exist, without “earning” the right or a give/take.  Everyone except them, that is.  I think it’s very easy to relate to feeling as though you have to work harder or offer more of yourself to make others feel comfortable.

That is what makes Mosscap so important to Dex’s story.  It is being rapidly exposed to a brand new world with its many wonders and conflicting aspects.  While Mosscap is open to learning about new things or things that might make him slightly uncomfortable, he does not bend his morals.

Dex and Mosscap keep each other grounded.  They are the only ones they feel comfortable sharing their most intimate secrets with.

In a world that can be so isolating and daunting, find your Mosscap.
