Wow! This was simply great. I love how Taylor Jenkins Reid put little Easter eggs of characters from her other stories, such as Evelyn Hugo, scattered throughout. Makes me want to read more from her to see who else crops up in other books.
This story is about family and resiliency and the bond of siblings. Their love for each other is sweet and inspiring and although technically a “historical” fiction, this story stands the test of time and could happen today just as easily. There are some great quotes in this one that really made me stop in my tracks.
“Must be nice. To be able to be weak. I wouldn’t know.” And “There’s no room for you in my life anymore. And I don’t owe it to you to make any space.”
just wow!
