The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
4.75
When I started this I was not too invested, I expected a pretty standard overly descriptive, victorian story on morality. The second half really gripped me though, I was genuinely so invested with what was going on with the children and who the ghosts where in relation to them. Whilst the ambiguous dialogue was a bit annoying at points, I actually dont mind that the mystery remains murky even by the end of the story, it makes me want to revisit the book and pick it apart. Theres so much to unpack regarding narration, psychology and authority which is impressive for such a short story.
