What I liked: This was, no argument, great writing and some of the most well developed characters I have read. I’m kinda mad with all the hype of this book that it isn’t more known the pure perfection that Daniel is as a human/love interest. Talk about the book boyfriend to end all others. Also, her best friend Bree was awesome and I want to read her story.
This was a very satisfying growth arc and it was a big sigh of relief when Alexis, the fmc, had her breakthrough moment. Her inner monologue said everything I have been yelling at her the whole book. I mean, A.J. hit every bullet point I had. Somehow, she wrote the most obvious resolution and had it sitting under Alexis' nose the entire book and I didn’t angrily toss it across the room because she wrote a fmc that despite it all I was rooting for.

What I didn’t like:
Alexis freaking broke Daniel after keeping him like a dirty secret and it was heartbreaking to watch her cycle of abuse and self-martyrdom reach out and drag him down until he was questioning his worth!
Was this realistic and align totally with how she would act because of her history/upbringing? I say yes.
But it broke my heart to read and I had my moments when I teetered on the edge of “yeah, move on dude, she’s never gonna wake up and stop being a shitty person.”
So yeah, I wasn’t ready for that emotional gut punch. I mean, for this reason the book was less of pure romance and more of a woman's fiction for me and I would have liked to see them on the other side of it a little more. Also
big eye roll at being 38 and getting pregnant just like that. Probably the most unrealistic and triggering thing about this  book for me

This was a powerful story, but it hurt my heart.
