A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote
4.5
emotional reflective medium-paced

I actually finished reading this collection of short stories two days ago already, but I wanted to leave me some time to gather my thoughts.

Also, it’s a short book that I could have finished in just a few days, but I took my time because I was enjoying it so much I wanted to stay longer with this book.

It was my first reading from Truman Capote, and it was a really pleasant surprise. I was hooked from the first story “A Christmas Memory”, I also loved “One Christmas”. I liked “The Thanksgiving Vsitor” and “Jug of Silver”. I only didn’t really get “Master Mystery”.

I enjoyed the writing and the fact that it is kind of a non-fiction semi-autobiographical book, I liked the nostalgia in the writing, it’s sometimes made me feel like I was there with the young Truman, and the two Christmasy short stories felt like a hug, especially when reading them around Christmas time.

I’m really glad I finally read one of his books and I definitely want to read more.
