Immortal Angel by Lynsay Sands

I don’t write reviews often but this book deserves it. Absolutely phenomenal! I did cry a lot though!
This is book 31 in this series. Most of the books are good. It’s one of my favorite authors and her books are good fluffy romances with fairly low stakes but interconnected characters and some carry-over plot from book to book. I like her stuff but it is normally easy to disconnect and do other things then pick it up again later. NOT this book!
80% of the book = Good, think it might be one of my favs in the series. I like the characters, I am interested in their stories. There is some tragic backstory that is sad but I am not actively sad or crying.
20% of the book = I am alternating between sobbing by myself at 11:00 at night and ranting at imaginary characters because there are SO MANY EMOTIONS!!!
This book has the AUDACITY to rip my heart out with no warning! And it happened late at night so obviously, I have to keep reading to find out what happens next. I can’t just go to sleep in the middle of this drama. I cried for HOURS over like 2 or 3 chapters out of the entire book. The entire rest of the book is the same fluffy romance as the rest of the series, it is just a few chapters that have gotten to me!
Stupid me just reading along thinking it is the same fluff as always. Then BAM “ don’t mind me just here to rip out your heart” then it goes right back to fluffy no stakes romance just like the rest of the series. And the worst part is I had predicted the surprise plot twist early on, yet it still ripped out my heart when it happened because of how it was written! I thought I was prepared because I know the series and the author's style, I had predicted the ending … and yet!
It is a wonderful book and might be one of my new favorites. Lynsay Sands, this is an amazing book and you should be proud of yourself!
