A Fine Balance
by Rohinton Mistry
Took me two months to finish reading this book. "A Fine Balance" was an excellent read. I enjoyed the author's poetic style crafting such a beautiful epic about India in the modern time. Some politics, some philosophy, some history, some human nature, and some heartbreaking stories.
The first few chapters were slow but essential to understand how the country's history shaped the four main characters whose lives eventually entwined together. The author had the magic touch which allows the characters to grow on the readers! The characters were with flaws but I have, as are many others, grown to love them and have wished them nothing but better luck. Only this was not a book with happy endings. It was a heavy read, indeed. That was why it took me so long to finish the 600+ pages.
"A Fine Balance" was so beautifully written! It's definitely a great, though heavy, read. I Highly recommend.
