Heaven Official's Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu (Novel) Vol. 1 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

5.0

God. I just. I cannot with this series. It is one of my favorites of all time and seeing it with a professional translation makes me so happy. It reads so fluently now.

My heart could barely hold still. Sometimes it stopped altogether. This is only volume 1 and Hualian already invented love.

The careful and gentle way HC lead XL out of the wedding sedan.
The ox cart scene, with the beautifully described scenery of fresh green grass, red maple leaves and San Lang being so charming but mischievous.
HC catching XL in the Sinner's Pit and bridal carrying him so he won't get dirty.
The way HC is so mad at himself that he let XL get stung by the scorpion snake. So unforgivable to him, the way he is all brooding when seeing the cursed shackles. And of course leaving a promise of reunion and The Ring... Entrusting everything to XL.
The endless ways in which HC shows respect, reverence, love, gentleness towards XL is insane. He is perfect and yet not too perfect.
He is snarky and mean towards others, keeps grudges, he is absolutely nerdy about languages. I love him so much.
And XL himself... He is so broken and an unreliable narrator and really tries his best to see humor in the most humorless situations. Yet he is still actually funny and kind of snarky as well. Power couple
Can't wait for volume 2 next.
