This is an incredibly accessible book for tackling the subject of all science relating to the creation of human beings. Which is a lot.

Bryson goes from the beginning of the universe, to formation of the earth in the solar system, to the existence of modern man, mentioning the hundreds of scientists (many who none of us know) along the way. From electrons to galaxies, you learn a lot, not very in depth, but that’s not really the point, the book is meant to give you a basic understanding of how everything (literally) works.

In the end I felt like it was such an amazing fact that I am alive today.

And also that it could be no other way.
