Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow

3.0

This book shared a common theme in a lot of fantasy series': the first book has way too much going on.

This book isn't bad, persay, but it requires a re-read to give it an in depth rating and understanding of what's really going on.

For now, though, I enjoyed the plot twists. Some of the dialogue made it too obvious who the next book is going to be about and what's going to be the problem within it.

I do think the book suffered by not just being from Larkyra's perspective, and the third-personish view muddled emotions and actions.

The magic was very interesting, and I can't wait to elaborate more after I re-read the book.

So for now, give it a shot. Just read slowly.
