After the first book in this series, I was so excited to pick up The Rebel, but this one just fell .... absolutely flat for me. I really enjoyed the set-up, the premise, the tension... and then BAM it all ended very quickly, without much escalation, and everything was fine. It was... OK. I feel like it's probably the weakest Marni book I've read.
