Fruits Basket, Vol. 13 by Natsuki Takaya

5.0

I really like this volume because we remember that there are other boys in this series that are interacting with Tohru alongside Yuki and Kyo. Nabe "confesses" that he likes Tohru, just to see what Yuki would do, and mentions that there are others around her that probably like her. I love this side of the romance because it shows that anyone within the series could end up with Tohru. There are so many possibilities of whom she could possibly like and be liked back, that it's exciting. It also shows that once again Natsuki is thinking more broadly with her characters and making sure that they're all accounted for in the end. That even if they're a minor characters, they still have a voice that needs to be heard. This level of passion for your characters is amazing and profound honestly.
