All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

5.0

First things first: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was breathtakingly stunning and heart-shatteringly poetic. It was a real page turner. Doerr’s writing grasped me from the start and never let go until I put the book down. Because it switched POV’s so quickly, but said so much in those brief pages, I couldn’t get to their next section fast enough. I found myself on the edge of my seat, so to speak, and constantly guessing as to what would happen by the end. It was as if I was trapped in the world of Narnia reading this book as I would spend hours engulfed in the book and reading each page, but somehow only a few dozen pages had turned. The passage of time compared to the pages Id read just didn’t make any sense. I had accidentally read a line from the last page when the kid I nanny asked how many pages were in my book, and been disappointed at reading a spoiler, but it wasn’t the spoiler I thought it was at all. This book leaves you with somewhat of an open ending but it still sends a raw, devastating, and inspiring message. I’m left with plenty of questions and the shattered pieces of my heart. All that to say, I loved this book and I hope you do too.
