One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

5.0

A solid 4.75 stars.

The way this book was orchestrated... Listen everyone. Go to your nearest bookstore or hop on Amazon, Etsy, whatever online shop you use, and go buy this book. I don't know why I didn't pick up this book sooner. It was so good and entertaining. I was always eager everyday to read the next page then another, and then another.

Let's talk about the characters:

Bronwyn: The "sexy nerd" is what I have her labeled as in my brain. I liked her enough to actually care about her. Sometimes her little miss perfect act had me contemplate my feelings about this book but it wasn't a problem.

Nate: MY HUBBYYY. The bad boy of the year. I loved everything about him except when he was an asshole sometimes. I loved how he stood up for my boy Coop. I also felt bad for his situation but I'm so happy he got a happy ending. (Let's just wait until the next book to mention that).

Cooper: I didn't feel as much for Cooper, but I kind of cared about him? He was nice, yes. I'm so glad that he also got a happy ending (again; let's wait until the next book lol). I would love to see more of Cooper in the next book.

Addy: I love how the author didn't keep her as the sweet innocent girl who always followed around her boyfriend. The glow up was necessary, both physically and mentally. You go, girl!

The switch in POVs in every chapter made me confused sometimes that I had to go back and check. It wasn't that bad considering I gave this book 4.75 stars.

Oh and, I knew something like that would happen, although I did not expect the people involved in the murder to be... well involved.
