Daughters of Jubilation by Kara Lee Corthron

4.0

Daughters of Jubilation is sent in the Jim Crow south. Evvie is an African American teen who is just beginning to come into her powers, or what her relatives call the jubilation. Her power is part kinetic and part magical and is so strong that it pulls members of her family from the future to her timeline. I enjoyed the family dynamics in this story. Definitely for older teens and a good read for October for sure.
