Brothers to the Death by Darren Shan

I didn‘t feel inclined to write a review of any of the books in this series, but since this is the last I figured I should.
I was going to give this 3 stars but there were two factors that changed my mind. the first, is that these books were written for readers much younger than I. The second, is that these books are prequels.
A lot of people don‘t like prequels. I‘ve had people point out that the story could have just started from the beginning and avoid having to look backwards. That is a fair point. except most prequels wouldn‘t even be interesting if they weren‘t prequels.
I can honestly say that this series was only interesting to me because I wanted to learn more about Larten Crepsley‘s past. The writing was rather bland, but I‘ll give benefit of the doubt and say that‘s because it was written for people younger than me.
The pacing was very fast, which works well in a prequel series. A prequel is there to be more informative than anything. It‘s there to satisfy curiousity and that‘s what this series did.
Reading The Saga of Larten Crepsley was very interesting and satisfying, but honestly, if it weren‘t a prequel to the Cirqe Du Freak series I would consider it dull.
