The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

5.0

When Amber first notices Jackson Parrish – his status, money, and privilege – she knows immediately that she will become Mrs. Parrish. There’s only one problem with her plan - Jackson’s perfect wife Daphne and their two daughters.

Daphne runs a charity in honor of her sister who passed away from CF. Amber uses this information to worm her way into the Parrish home. Claiming that she also had a sister pass away from CF, she and Daphne become fast friends bonding over their shared pain. As Daphne and Amber have nights out and shared holidays together, they become like the sisters they lost. Amber slowly becomes more obsessed over Jackson, thinking she would make a better wife to him. Daphne, on the other hand, has plans of her own when it comes to her friendship with Amber.

Told in three parts, we first read Amber’s story then Daphne’s and finally the story closes out with these two realities coming together in the present. One of the better psychological thrillers I’ve read, this story hooked me from the start and fully entertained until the end. I don’t want to give too much away because this is one of those books that you just need to dive blind into. Nothing is what it seems to be. As it says on the cover, “Some women get everything; some women get everything they deserve.” The Liv Constantine sisters are masters in the craft of storytelling.

Compelling and gripping in every sense this is a story that will stick around in your head for a while. You’ll be left thinking, “Wow, that’s pretty messed up,” and that my friends, is a book I would want to read.
