Definitely better than the first one. It’s a very painful read at times, where’s the happiness?! To quote myself, “I read for vibes, but not these vibes” 🫣
Honestly, probably a 4 star read but Luther bumps it up. He is my favorite MMC to date. My heart FEELS for him (all the emotions, no spoilers). And Taran? He’s like Ridoc but better. Loved him going to bat for Luther. Loved multiple side characters telling Diem to pull her head out of her ass. Loved her heart’s desire. But Diem overall sucks so bad. She’s not even dumb, she’s also mean. And my boy Luther doesn’t deserve that.
Penn Cole took “slow burn” as a challenge in this series. But boy did it leave for major swoon worthy quotes and moments.
