Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman

5.0

This is a book-lover's dream-come-true. Set in San Francisco, with lots of literary references and puzzles to solve, a girl and a boy unravel a mystery with higher stakes than they had imagined. Exciting, clean (no sex-drugs-gore), it's perfect for kids who liked "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "The Westing Game", or the Mysterious Benedict Society series.

*I was one of the lucky librarians who received three free copies of this book - two to hide in San Francisco for book scavengers to find, one to read and pass along. I love being part of the game, and love even more the way kids' eyes light up when I tell them about it!
