Thron in Flammen: Roman
by Brian Staveley
After the masterful set-up in book one, Brian Staveley manages to avoid all the negatives of epic fantasy and produces an action packed novel in which the world building supports and enhances, but does not drown, the plot and character development.
He also circumvents *The Curse of the Second Book* and provides a novel, that while obviously part of a series, is deeply satisfying in its own right.
And we only had to wait a year for it, which in my completely subjective opinion is a perfectly acceptable gap between books.
