Kiyoaki, oh, you poor kid. How bad does it feels to compete with your bestfriend for the woman of your dream?

The proses are exquisite, painting vivid portraits of a changing landscape. Posh descriptions of gardens cloaked in spring snow transport the reader to the heart of ancient rituals, while bustling cityscapes pulsate with the energy of a nation reshaping itself. The description are palpable, making me transported to the era every single time.

Mishima  seamlessly incorporates social and historical elements into the story, by capturing the changes in power dynamic between traditional practices and Western influences, which leads to internal strife and a quest for identity. Mishima included the fears and uncertainties of a country in transition through his characters, making the characters dlemma is more interesting. It gets me thinking about deep issues like love, tradition, and the decisions we make when society is changing. The conclusion is simultaneously tragic and oddly optimistic, perfect for the sequel.
